“101 dismissals” from Legal Alliance Company
On June 7 th Legal Alliance Company held a workshop “101 Dismissals: Threats and Consequences”. The
workshop was attended by HR department heads, HR managers and lawyers of leading Ukrainian and
international companies.
Legal Alliance Company partner Illya Kostin and senior associate Iryna Shlyakhovska acted as experts.
They shared experience of organization of managing workers dismissal and answered questions what to
get ready for at top managers dismissal, what typical mistakes are made and how to avoid them.
At the workshop a number of cases and possible situations at dismissals were considered, and also
recommendations to avoid long trials were given. Possible changes to labour law of Ukraine, in particular
dismissals, including concerning reasons for terminating labour relations, redundancy, protected
categories of employees were discussed.
Due to participation of gestalt physician Victoria Chuprovska, the participants looked at the dismissal
process not only from the business process, but also from the psychology of relations point of view. In
particular, Victoria told about psycho-emotional types, internal condition of the dismissed and their
attitude, possible results of incorrect communication with them.
Iryna Brytska, Marketing and PR director, mentor of HeadHunter Ukraine spoke about how not to harm
HR brand of the company and what tools to use to dismiss the staff correctly.Illya Kostin, partner at Legal Alliance Company and moderator of the event, stressed, “It is important to
keep confidentiality and observe effective laws, otherwise unforeseen difficulties can arise at any time. It
is always necessary to make maximum effort for fast and correct pre-trial settlement of conflict issues.”
The event focused on the transformation of Ukraine's intellectual property sector on its path toward European integration.
