On July 09, was held a working meeting with representatives of the Association of Perfumery and Cosmetics of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as “APCU”) in the office of the Legal Alliance Company.
The meeting was attended by the associate of Legal Alliance Company, Alexander Yanev, as well the Chairman of the Board of Directorsof APCU Victoria Filatova and the Executive Director of APCU Maria Mykhalyova.
During the meeting were discussed issues related to the necessity of adopting the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Cosmetic Products, the increase of the rates of excise duty on alcohol (including for the purposes of perfumery and cosmetics industry), etc.
It is well-known that there is not any appropriate regulation of the turnover of perfumery and cosmetic products in Ukraine as of today that is not generally in agreement with the approach of the European integration policy of our state.
In the context of the reduced rates of excise duty on ethyl alcohol denatured for perfumery and cosmetic products, it was noted that the recovery of the preferential rate of excise duty for manufacturers of perfumery would increase revenues from paying value added tax and income tax, and therefore provide a deduction of social security contributions and contributions to the Pension Fund by increasing the number of workplaces due to the restoration of production, which is very important in today's crisis situation.
In more detail mentioned issues will be revealed by Alexander, in his report, which will be presented in the framework of the large-scale exhibition InterCHARM-2014, scheduled for September 19, 2014.
Please note that in May this year Legal Alliance Company was elected as the exclusive legal adviser to the Association of Perfumery and Cosmetics of Ukraine.
The event focused on the transformation of Ukraine's intellectual property sector on its path toward European integration.
