For around one year Legal Alliance companies’ team of lawyers has been developing the draft Law of Ukraine "On Medicines" (No 2162). As it was reported at the end of spring 2015, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued its recommendations to the mentioned draft law.
On 13th May, 2015 the Ministry of Health of Ukraine held a roundtable discussion with Ukrainian MPs, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine, pharmaceutical market players, as well as legal experts. It was decided to finalize the draft law in compliance with WHOs’ recommendations.
Meanwhile on 2nd March, 2015 an alternative draft law of Ukraine "On Medicines" (No 2162-1) was registered in the parliament. Considering this fact, those MPs who have tabled these draft laws to the Parliament, decided to start the process on the unification of documents.
The preliminary agreement provides that both MPs shall develop the joint draft Law of Ukraine "On Medicines", register it in the Parliament, as well as to withdraw the proposed draft laws No 2162 and No 2162-1.
The event focused on the transformation of Ukraine's intellectual property sector on its path toward European integration.
