On Monday 17th of November this year, the Verkovna Rada Committee on Health Issues conducted a round table on the topic “” Relevant Problems of Legislative Regulation of the Circulation of Medicinal Products and the Realization of Pharmaceutical Activity.” The Chairwoman of the Committee, national MP Olga Bogomolets , Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Oleg Musiy alongside representatives of the President’s Administration , the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine on Medicinal Products, the State Expert Centre, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, leading scientific , medical and pharmaceutical institutions and universities , pharmaceutical associations and representatives of trade unions and patient organizations.
During the event, Dmytro Aleshko, the partner of the Legal Alliance Company, conducted a presentation on behalf of MP Andriy Shipko concerning the draft legislation of the Law of Ukraine on “Medicinal Products”” (register № 2162), the legal support for the development of which had been entrusted to a team of lawyers from Legal Alliance. Mr. Aleshko explained to the audience the main provisions of the draft legislation and said that earlier this year the document was examined and received the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
The alternative draft legislation of the Law of Ukraine “On Medicinal Products” registered under № 2162-1 was presented by its initiator Oleg Musiy.
Ms. Bogomolets emphasized the importance of a most rapid adoption of a new edition of the law “On Medicinal Law.” The Committee Chairwoman gave the representatives of the pharmaceutical sector two days for them to prepare and send their suggestions concerning the documents to the Committee address.
During the summary of the round table, a decision was undertaken to revise the draft legislation of the Law of Ukraine “On Medicinal Products” and its alternative draft legislation №2162-1, their revocation from Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada , their merge into one document.
The event focused on the transformation of Ukraine's intellectual property sector on its path toward European integration.
