On Thursday, 19th November, a meeting dedicated to the policy of medicine distribution in Ukraine was held at the Ministry of Health in Ukraine between the representatives of the pharmaceutical market and the experts of the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Legal Alliance Company was represented at the meeting by Dmytro Aleshko, head of the pharmaceutical regulation and norm setting practices.
The first session of the meeting was devoted to the development of a strategic approach to ensure access to better medicines for the population as well as specific issues of concern, which is likely to face in the background of medication for the population and also to more specific issues with will possibly be met against the background of changes in the demographic, economic conditions and modalities of the pharmaceutical market. During the second session, the special place that pricing policies have in the wide spectrum of medicinal products was examines alongside the opportunities for the restrictions of various pricing mechanisms.
Dmytro Aleshko commented after the meeting on the preliminary conclusions reached by the participants: "I am pleased to note that within the walls of the Ministry of Health a dialogue on strategic issues has begun. I am even more pleased that such a discussion takes place with the participation of European experts. Yesterday, it was decided to start work on a national strategy for the pharmaceutical sector. Of course, the Legal Alliance, with many years of experience in the field of pharmaceutical regulation, will be involved in this work.”
The event focused on the transformation of Ukraine's intellectual property sector on its path toward European integration.
