On October 26th, 2017, the European Business Association hosted a meeting of the member-companies of the Association's Health Care Committee with the Expert Committee on the Selection and Use of Essential Medicinal Products.
The meeting was devoted to the consideration of the applicants’ practical questions regarding the inclusion of drugs in the new National List of Medicinal Products, as well as other aspects related to its introduction from January 1st, 2018.
Dmytro Aleshko, partner at Legal Alliance Company, was invited to speak at the meeting and tell about the recent changes in legislation that directly affect the applicants. In addition, Oleksandra Oleschuk, Chairman of the Expert Committee, as well as Oksana Lebega and Bertalan Nemet, USAID technical advisers, who shared their European experience in this field, spoke at the event.
According to Dmytro Aleshko "Ukraine is facing the process of streamlining drug costs with the use of the new model of the National List of Medicines for the first time. As in any new affair, there are more questions than answers. The task remains unchanged - in 2018, a patient, when admitted to a hospital, should get the most essential medications free of charge."
The event focused on the transformation of Ukraine's intellectual property sector on its path toward European integration.
