On June 19, 2014 Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine issued a draft of Law of Ukraine “On amendments to the Article 21 of the Law of Ukraine “On advertisement” (hereinafter referred to as the “Draft”). Under notification latter of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine it was indicated that the Draft has been introduced in order to regulate current situation regarding the offences of persons who sell public dietary supplements as drugs.
The prepared draft aimed at prohibition of the use of phones in advertising of dietary supplements.
Thus, part 9 of the Article 21 of the Law of Ukraine “On advertisement” shall be amended as following:
"Using of contact telephone numbers within an advertisement of dietary supplements is prohibited. Within print materials and broadcasting of information and analytical programs, programs on medical subjects it is prohibited to put contact telephone numbers, except for advertising of health facilities that have been licensed to conduct business of medical practice”.
