On October 17th, 2018 Legal Alliance team held the seminar “Communications with HCPs and Promotion of Medicines: Rules, Requirements and Limitations”. During the event speakers – partner Oleksii Bezhevets and associate Natalia Abramovych shared practical knowledge and advice on legal aspects of promotion of medicines through various forms of interaction with medical and pharmaceutical professionals.
During the seminar the participants analyzed current regulatory limitations at promotion of medicines, what factors should be considered during communication with HCPs, what risks exist and how to minimize them. Special attention was paid to comparison of legal conditions for promotion of RX and OTC medicines. Furthermore, requirements to formalization of sponsorship and charitable aid were discussed.
At the end of the seminar the speakers shared experience of marketing activities in legal area. They also discussed agreements on provision of services/performance of works by HCPs, mechanisms and legal foundations for funding participation of HCPs in events, limitations on personal gifts, branded products and other hospitality demonstration, as well as non-standard methods of promotion, including with the use of social network and mobile applications.
