Dmytro Aleshko, partner at Legal Alliance Company, took part in the conference “Poland-Ukraine: Medicine and Biotechnology” held on June 12th, 2019 by the Polish community on occasion of 20-year anniversary of the International Community of Polish Entrepreneurs of Ukraine. In his speech Mr. Aleshko drew attention of the participants to regulation of market of medicines and medical devices in Ukraine, and also related prospects for Ukrainian and foreign business.
Mr. Aleshko emphasised on important changes in the pharmaceutical industry taking place within the reform in Ukraine and for which international pharmaceutical and medical companies must get ready. In particular, it concerns gradual, planned by 2020, adoption of electronic prescriptions within the program “Affordable Medicines” which can now be issued by primary care doctors. It is pleasant that today Ukraine in terms of this sector development pace is ahead of some European countries.
The atmosphere of the event was friendly and relaxing, it facilitated establishment of positive business contacts between Ukrainian and Polish sides. I am happy that no other country in the region has demonstrated pharmaceutical market growth by 21% per year. Ukrainian pharmaceutical market is important for Polish business in terms of medicine and biotechnologies. Bartosz Cichocki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Ukraine, supported bilateral collaboration of the countries in these areas and expressed his hope that innovative technological potential and intellectual resources of Ukraine and Poland will let reach success in development of these industries in future.
