On March 22nd-24th Kyiv hosted a scientific conference with international participation "Current Issues of Modern Diabetes", one of the most large-scale events of the year for diabetology. The conference highlighted urgent issues of treatment of patients with diabetes and world experience of new approaches implementation to providing such patients with medical products.
Lidiya Sangarovskaya, senior associate at Legal Alliance Company, at a workshop told about legal issues in medicine and how to protect oneself and one’s patient. In particular, Lidiya focused on such issues as main aspects of the medical reform, government reimbursement program “Affordable Medicines”, industry standards in healthcare sector and main limits on doctor’s professional activities.
“Healthcare professionals at their professional activities cannot advertise medicinal products, medical products or prescribe medicinal products on forms containing advertisement information and specify producers of medicinal products (trademarks)”, Lidiya emphasized.
The event was organized by the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education named after P. L. Shupik and All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Ukrainian Diabetes Association”. This unique conference gathered leading healthcare experts including diabetes scientists from Austria, Poland, Georgia, USA and UK.
The event focused on the transformation of Ukraine's intellectual property sector on its path toward European integration.
