Oleksii Bezhevets, partner and attorney-at-law at Legal Alliance Company, in June 2019 held six workshops “Foundations for Policy and Regulatory Framework for Green Economy”. The workshops were supported by the UN within regional conferences on development of green economy in Asia-Pacific (Bangkok, Thailand) and Africa (Cairo, Egypt).
“Development of green economy worldwide draws more and more attention. In fact, humankind does not have enough time to adapt to altered climate patterns. If industry, cities, agriculture and power supply do not start responding to the current challenges immediately – the consequences will be terrible. Now altered climate patterns are leading to significant worsening of life conditions in many regions, lands are depleted, a number of countries risk to disappear from the world map due to increase in ocean water level. New technologies enable business and many industrial products to be both profitable and green. How this can be implemented in different countries, taking into account their accumulated experience and available tools, we tell durind the workshops. I hope that the obtained experience and knowledge will come in useful for Ukraine as well”, added Oleksii Bezhevets.
These conferences have become an international platform to ease public-private partnership and facilitate international collaboration and exchange of knowledge with a view of wider adaptation of green economy. Representatives of government and experts in various areas, including green economy, international collaboration, international law and partnership attended the events. Oleksii Bezhevets has also become a member of this international team of professionals and described legal aspects of the matter.
