On April, 25-26 this year in Kharkiv there was the conference on intellectual property law in Internet (ICIP) organized by Kharkiv department of the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA Ukraine).
The event associated with World Intellectual Property Day was attended by more than 60 law students from Ukraine and other counties. The main issue of the conference this year refered to copyright in Internet.
The purpose of the conference – to improve knowledge in intellectual property, to increase level of students’ skills, to develop legal education and to share the experience with European colleagues.
Senior Associate at Legal Alliance Company Vitaliy Savchuk was the invited expert and presented the report “Songs or Innocence? Copyright to the Entertainment Content”. His speech was devoted to the peculiarities of legal sharing videos, music (in particular, covers on third party’s songs) and photos (and other pictures) by Internet. By these examples Vitiliy Savchuk demonstrated that nowadays the ways of using content develop more quickly than relevant legislation.
Mr. Savchuk’s speech was translated for other foreign participants by Skype and this perfectly corresponded with the event topic.
