Legal Alliance is a major law firm in pharmaceuticals, so often clients address us issues that require particular expertise and experience.
Recently Legal Alliance, along with local counterparts, represented the interests of an international pharmaceutical manufacturer as a victim in criminal proceedings on counterfeiting medicines in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A group of individuals produced pharmaceutical packaging and used it to distribute unknown medicines disguised as the client's product. After examining the proceedings, the defendants were convicted, and it was confirmed on appeal.
However, it has only been a few months since initiation of the investigation and the first conviction. According to Partner Vitalii Savchuk: "We have worked in several jurisdictions with cases of counterfeit products. Kazakhstan pleasantly surprised us, since similar cases in Ukraine, including far more serious ones, usually are pending for years, if they reach a verdict at all."
Due to the practical solutions offered by Legal Alliance, the client was able to effectively protect its rights during the investigation of the intruders and in the court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
We are thrilled to announce a major milestone in our team's growth and celebrate the well-deserved career advancements of our colleagues.
