On 30 January 2024, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered Draft Law No. 10449, which proposes amendments to the legislation on military service, mobilization and military registration (Draft Law), to replace Draft Law No. 10378 of 25 December 2023. The 84-page Draft Law contains proposals for a number of conceptual changes to 15 regulations. Following the first reading of the Draft Law, it was adopted as a basis on 07.02.2024. After that, more than 4,000 amendments were submitted to the document, which were subject to consideration by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence (the Committee) as part of the preparation of the Draft Law for the second reading.
