The time each participating organizer of our ranking spent, according to the research, is quite an individual indicator and can significantly vary for each company (for example, from 35.5 hours till 259 hours, or even more than 8 thousand hours).
For example, Illya Kostin, partner at Legal Alliance Company, which has wide pro bono practice, notes that social responsibility has always taken an important place in his company activities. Work on such projects sometimes takes up almost half of partners’ working hours.
Cases recently dealth with by the company pro bono include projects for provision of legal assistance to ATO participants, including their representation in criminal cases; social initiatives in this area (charity foundation „Krug“, VOЇNY project); provision of legal assistance locally (protection of a building at 2/1 Kruglouniversytetska Str. from illegal real estate development in Kyiv city centre, which threatens the historical monument; representation of inhabitants of Dernovka village in their struggle with illegal deforestation).
“Choosing cases, we do not concentrate on specific layers of population, but carefully look into each case. We will never refuse to provide assistance to those who really need it. There are no specific rules. Only importance of the project for the society and state and its influence are considered, as well as whether it is in line with the partners’ values”, commented Mr. Kostin on the peculiarities of pro bono work in the company.
