Introducing new edition of the Law of Ukraine “On medicinal products” is still among current priorities. This initiative is encouraged by the Committee of Ukrainian parliament on healthcare issues. Thus, on April 9 was held the first meeting of working group initiated by Andrii Shypko, member of parliament of Ukraine, member of deputy group “Economic development”, head of sub-committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on pharmaceutics, and established to develop new edition of the Law of Ukraine “On medicinal products” .
During the meeting Andrii Shypko mentioned that existing regulatory base needs qualitative systematization whereas the law is overburdened with numerous amendments, and certain provisions are contradictory and need to be updated. Furthermore, whereas Ukraine declared its commitment to euro integration – the new law on medicinal products must be developed in line with provisions of Directive 2001/83/EU.
On the meeting it was agreed that the legal support to working group will be provided by Dmytro Aleshko, partner with Legal Alliance Company.
Primarily Dmytro Aleshko proposed to organize the work of the group so as to include all principles governing pharmaceutical market and enshrined in Directive 2001/83/EC in draft law, in which peculiarities of Ukrainian legislation will also be considered, in particular, terminology, structure etc. As of today the phased plan of work on draft law and the structure of draft Law of Ukraine “On medicinal products” is already developed and in a short time will be released for consideration of working group.
Andrii Shypko instructed members of working group to complete the work on draft law till June 30, 2014.
It is planned that the members of the working group every coming week will discuss issues risen in the course of draft law development. Team of Legal Alliance Company will keep on informing about the project.
